I'm hoping someone can clear the fog here a bit.
I am having a bit of trouble understanding some of the relationships in my poller statistics. Mostly around nodes vs elements and how to balance these across multiple pollers.
What are the definitions of "Elements", "Network Node Elements", "Volume Elements and "Interface Elements"?
How would 24 port managed switch show up?
If I unmanage 12 of the interfaces on this switch what would I expect to see?
I have 4 pollers, 3 of which are at at 70%+ polling rate and the 4th loading up fast. I am trying to figure out the best way to maximise the efficiency of these 4 without adding additional pollers if possible.
The network I am monitoring has a huge number of access switches where we don't need to monitor individual access ports but do want to monitor the uplinks and also maintain the 2 minute default status poll timing.
I have done a bit of searching but haven't found what I am looking for. If there is some specific doc or a whitepaper somewhere, please let me know.
