Unknown Additional Interfaces as Uncontrolled/Controlled on SUP8

We've been in the process of upgrading some of our core switches within branch offices.  Most of them are Catalyst 4506, 4507R, and 4510R Chassis with single or dual supervisor modules.  Part of this process is upgrading them to Supervisor 8's (WS-X45-SUP8-E).

In one such office, we upgraded the 4507R to use dual SUP8's running SW: 03.03.00.XO and FW: 15.1(1r)SG1.  Like most of our sites, we'll put the device (and the whole office) into an unmanaged state while the work is being performed.  When the work is complete, we remove the device from the unmanaged state, manually rediscover it, manually poll it, remove any interfaces that got "orphaned" (renumbered and no longer polling properly), and use Edit Resources to add the important interfaces back.

This time, I noticed that there were significantly more interfaces that there should be.  As an example, I'm including the following screenshot from my Manage Nodes screen

NPM_SUP8_AddlInterfaces.jpg

We are currently running Platform 2013.2.0 with NPM 10.6.  Our MIB database is dated 12/20/2013 14:03:30.

Can anyone tell me what these additional interfaces are and should they even be visible?  They look to be appearing on all of my SUP8 updates.  The interface type is being reported as 232 (for Uncontrolled) and 231 (for Controlled).
