This is an issue we have been trying to fix for the past few months at least. I have an SR open with support that has still been pending, but thought I'd give this place a shot. We are having issues with polling through one of our two VCenter infrastructures. This is what it shows in the VIM logs:
2014-01-09 13:57:16,836 [STP SmartThreadPool Thread #0][VirtualCenter:xxx.xx.xx.xx] ERROR VMwareService.VmwareVim25Poller - VMware Job Polling node xxx.xxx.xx.xx - can't get performance counters. All values set to zero.
System.Net.WebException: The operation has timed out

The symptoms are this:
Notice how memory % usage is showing zero at the cluster level?
It should be reporting like this as shown in our other VCenter that is polling correctly:
Both VCenter versions are the same including Build Number: 5.1.0, 880146
We are using ESXi 5.1 across the board. This is a brand new installation of NPM, latest version 10.6.1
I have opened tickets with VMWare, and they've virtually been useless (they could not see any errors or blocks on their end). Anyone have any ideas? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
