I've been digging around a bit but haven't been able to find a solid answer to this so far.
Exactly how does NPM status poll a node and what criteria is used to determine that a node is "down".
Is a status poll cycle a single ping or several?
If one polling cycle is dropped, how quickly does it try again? Does it get more aggressive or less?
How many cycles must fail before it raises a node down event?
Are there any other factors that come into play?
