I have inherited a Solarwinds installation that contains the Orion web interface and NPM, NCM, SAM and a couple other items. I have this running in a virtualized environment with more than the recommended CPU and memory requirements. The problem I have been encountering is that every evening at exactly 9pm I see a network traffic spike through the roof from the unit and then every morning around 3am my memory utilization goes from around 10% to almost 80% and my CPU also spikes.
I am assuming that there are some predefined events that are being run as specific times of the day however I cannot figure out where in any of these Solarwinds applications one would schedule or manage such high traffic and system resource events? I initially thought it might have to do with polling however it seems that polling is performed periodically throughout the day and shouldn't be the result of what I am seeing?
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I can provide further information if needed.
Thanks
