NPM data continuity when upgrading circuit types?

Howdy.

We are currently in the process of replacing several hundred point to point full-rate DS-3 and T-1 circuits across the US with MPLS based circuits. In most cases the handoffs will be going from the legacy serial interface on the router to now being an ethernet handoff so the interface index in the DB will obviously changed.

I'm curious to know if others have lived through this and / or if anyone has any thoughts about the maintenance of 'reporting data continuity' as we migrate?

Thoughts on if it's possible or even worthwhile?

The changes in bandwidth are going to be significant in many if not most cases (i.e. all DS-3s are going to be upgraded to gig-handoff with 150 meg port speeds while typical previous T-1 will go to 100 meg handoff with 5-10 meg port speed).

Wondering if it just makes more sense to run the current year's reports on interface utilization out to pdf for posterity & start anew or??

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
