Currently Running NPM 10.6.1 with some other modules on the one server. I'm running into one particular frustrating problem.
On one particular subnet in our environment I am seeing Solarwinds occassionally excessively poll. What I mean by that is the following:
I literally see Solarwinds (through a packet capture, do SNMP get-requests or get-bulk request for one or tow oids, literally every few hundreds and thousands of a second. In a packet capture I did just today I saw solarwinds send around 600,000 snmp getrequest packets to one endpoint in the space of two minutes. When I look up one of the oids it is valid, but refers to a directory value on a riverbed.
Sporadically this happens on different ips in the subnet for different oids.
Now I'm just wondering if anyones run into an issue like this before? I will log a job with solarwinds support shortly. But I am somewhat sceptical if this is a solarwinds issue? As I would of thought if 600,000 packets snmp packets were sent by solarwinds in two minutes I would of breached my polling license?
Thanks
