Hi
I'd appreciate some help. For a number of reasons I'm using WMI to monitor Windows systems, if I run network discovery, or add nodes manually, it picks up the usual, some volumes, interfaces, SQL if applicable and windows scheduled tasks if applicable etc. brilliant! - ish. What is not added, however, is the monitoring of "cpu & memory" arguably these details, particularly historic trend data, are among the most crudely useful metrics to measure.
If I open a node summary, list resources, select CPU (interestingly - if I use the "all" button it chooses all but this choice the first time and then on the second click includes cpu & memory) and then save this then it starts to monitor the same and it works correctly, and, as far as I can tell so far, continues to monitor them. I therefore have two questions:
1. how can I update all machines en masse rather than listing resources and saving, I cannot find any obvious field in the DB though imagine there is something that can be turned on at that level, surely?
2. how can I make sure that by adding/discovering a device it includes cpu & memory for a WMI device as well as volumes and interfaces. I've used Orion at previous places and not had this issue so I know it's got to be a setting somewhere - I realise that fixing this and running a discovery might also answer question 1 above in due course.
thanks for your help
Mike
