Afternoon Thwackers,
I think the Upgrade Advisor needs some love. I'm currently running NPM 11.0.1 and SAM 6.1.1 on SQL Server 2012 SP2 quite happily, and I'm looking to upgrade to NPM 11.5.1 and SAM 6.2. For shiznit and giggles I thought I'd give the advisor a whirl to confirm my upgrade steps (NPM 11.5.1 first, then SAM 6.2 or primary poller, then the associated APE upgrades on my pollers) and it advised that my required target application configuration is incompatible:
I came across this once before, and opened a ticket (Case #800601). It was confirmed by Support that this is duff advice, and that SQL 2012 SP2 is supported, and that they would ask the Devs to update the live build of the advisor accordingly (the support tech actually spoke to the devs to check it though, as he was getting the same result, and they confirmed SP2 is fine for this configuration). To verify that it was indeed the SQL service pack that was causing the reported incompatibility, I left everything the same, but changed the database to SP1:
Everything reports as compatible, and confirms my upgrade steps
Could someone highlight this to the web devs please? It'll reduce the number of support tickets raised due to the confused advisor!
