We currently have hundreds of sites set up in Orion each with a router, switch, and a server (there is more hardware there but that is what we are monitoring right now). All of which is connected to our MPLS network. We have everything in a group and that group is dependent on MPLS so if MPLS goes down we only get on alert.
The next step is to have each server dependent on its switch which would be dependent on its router. This seems to an insanely tedious task right now setting up the hundreds of dependencies necessary. Right now if we lose connection to a router three alerts are generated (for the router, switch, and server). I would really like to only have one alert generated depending on the piece that goes down. Is there an efficient way to set this up?
Thanks for the help. This is my first time posting.
