Hello all,
I'm searched for this answer and cannot seem to find it. I hope someone here can help.
I use Solarwinds NPM to monitor my network. I have alerts set up so that when something goes down, an e-mail is sent to my web-based ticketing system and a ticket is auto-generated. It works great unless a WAN link is bouncing, then I get a ticket every time the interface comes back online. I have no control over the ticket software but I do have control over the alerts. What I'm looking to do is in some way have Solarwinds check to see if there has been an alert within the past 3 hours, for example, for the same device. If so, don't sent the message. If not, then send the message.
My outsourced help desk is using BMC Footprints for tickets and I am using NPM 10.4.
Any help would be appreciated.
Please keep in mind I am a network engineer and don't always understand some of the responses. So please...dumb it down for me
