i started this discussion to be able reach my target - online change color of link in network atlas. I want to reflect ip sla measurement , and link utilisation in link color + link description
as solarwinds doesnt offer it, and feature request will take ages i will try to do it on my own. It would be amaizing, if somebody from solarwinds inside can support me.
my idea:
i will create external script in perl, which will be trigered by advanced alarm monitoring in solarind.
script will access database and set link color, or link label description.
set_link.pl "<link id>" "color id" "link description"
script have to get everytime 3 parameters. If color or link description is empty, it will not be changed.
first i have to get some infor about solarwind network atlas internals.. .what is necessary to figure out ( and i dont know so far - i will be updating this message)
1)- howto find via sql specific link/what is database structure of network atlas regarding this links...
2)- howto get via sql color/label of link
3)- howto set via sql color of link
4) - howto change/add link label via sql
i hope it is stored in sql 
didnot check so far ..... if somebody knows answer for this 4 points i would be happy - of course i will share result...
