Upgrade SW apps to 64-bit

Howdy,

It seems to me that it is well overdue for SolarWinds to migrate all their applications to 64-bit.  Yes, these work just fine in 32-bit mode on our 64-bit servers.  However, it is just not the same since it fails to truly utilize all the benefits of a 64-bit O/S.  By the way, I would also include the IIS requirement, which also runs in 32-bit compatibility mode.  As a matter of fact, many of SolarWinds competitors have already offer their apps in true 64-bit mode.  So, if SolarWinds developers want to ensure they're not "left behind", they might want to put this on top of their "to-do list".

Please, do not get me wrong.  I think the SolarWinds folks have come up with the best combination of tools, while keeping the TCO (true cost of ownership) much lower that its competitors. On top of that, SolarWinds does offer a superb and very responsive (24 x 7 x 365) support hotline -whether by phone or online.  None of the other vendors for the tools we own offers these advantages.  These are (in my humble opinion) why many have moved (or are seriously considering a move) to the SolarWinds tool suite.  Imagine what would happen if SolarWinds moved all their apps to true 64-bit code... this would make for a great tool suite to be an excellent one.

I think most of the folks in this community would agree with my comments above.  Still, I would appreciate feedback from fellow SW admins, so we can jointly ask the developers to make this a priority in their development road-map for the SolarWinds apps. Thanks in advance for your feedback.  Have a great day everyone!!!
