Solarwinds supports up to SQL 2014 SP1, I have been running SP2 for some time now without issue and I am about to update installed products to latest versions...Anyone running SQL 2014 SP2? And have there been any issues?

Cached resources issue
We have recently been seeing an increase in issues where resource monitors are stating errors. Here is what we see in our Manage Nodes area:
Expanding the node to view the resources shows (no other active interface, yet the node is up):
Listing the resources states that we are viewing a cached version or resources and the resource is green:
If we Force refresh, the resource list changes to (the correct adapter):
Selecting this then submitting adds the correct adapter to the list where we can select the incorrect one and delete it which makes the node status to just "Up" without any errors:
Has anyone else been dealing with this issue?

Two seperate networks - Two seperate instances of Solarwinds NPM. Need Ideas fast...
Need to know best short term solution - Need all alerts from seperate network instance of Solarwinds to be recognized by the instance of solarwinds within a seperate network. Not sure if thats clear so I will try again ....
Company A currently uses solarwinds and has purchased Company B. Company B also has its own instance of Solarwinds. Problem - How to get Company B's Solarwinds Alerts that when fired will somehow be recognized as an alert and show on Company A's message center. There are only a total of 22 alerts in the Company B's instance of Solarwinds. All Nodes are network devices and are only monitored for UP DOWN status for the most part.
Is there currently an exchange component monitor that will monitor a mailbox for specific messages with specific subject lines? That was my first thought but I am a total ROOKIE compared to the MASTERS that reside here and I was hoping to get ideas for a short term fix until we connect both networks.
Any help would be fantastic - Deadline is Friday Close of business 4pm Central time.

UPS Battery poller for raw data for Current Usable Watt/Hours
Looking to find the values associated via SNMPv2 with an APC Battery Raw Data under Main Frame to be able to report on individual battery module 'Current Usable Watt/Hours'.
Reason being, our facilities guys that manage these said they would like a more proactive way to know the values specific to the 'individual' battery modules for 'Current Usable Watt/Hours' dips below a numeric threshold v.s. getting a threshold alert reactively regarding overall UPS aggregate capacity load as a whole, which I think is represented by the difference between 'upsAdvOutputLoad' and 'upsAdvOutputCurrent'
As shown in screen shot below, the highlighted values under Data 2 translate to 'Current Usable Watt/Hours' for EACH battery module at an individual level. Basically, we'd like to be able to pull those values to set up reporting, so if they fall below a certain minimum, say less than '400', they are flagged in a report to replace. The values under Data 1, show what that's relative to, '850' in capacity of the individual module, which is the 'Battery Pack Capacity' per Battery module.
So, I did an SNMP walk of the above UPS and can't seem to find/see 'Data 1' or 'Data 2', or the values nested underneath those?
Any ideas?

NCM fails with "Transfer Setup Error"
Good morning,
I'm having an issue using NCM in the Edit Properties screen. My primary poller shows a Down state under the Change Polling Engine dialog, and if you try to test your Connection Profile under NCM Properties, it fails with the error message "Test Failed. Transfer Setup Error"
What do I need to do in order to fix my primary poller?

Network discovery not er..discovering.
Good morning.
I am having issues with network discovery. No matter what I do, it seem to always fail the network discovery. I am unsure if it's because of a timing issue, the fact that maybe it's a permission issue, or other. But if I leave the auto discovery over night, it always says not complete. Has anyone else had this issue? Or is it me? Is it a setting where it times out after a certain period of time?

Custom ASPX resources in NPM 12
So I have been using several custom resources I created over the years (earlier versions of NPM) and tried to add them to NPM 12.0 but it seems that everytime you run the configuration wizard for the web it wipes them out.
I assume this is now normal behavior however are we no longer allowed to use custom ASPX resources in 12?

Trial for NPM and NTA
Hi all,
i want to ask you all how to use NPM and NTA for trial, so i will describe like this :
I already have source for NPM 12.0 version, and i already success install it with evaluation mode. next i want to install NTA so i go to the solarwinds.com and download for the installer, and after fill the registration form i can downloaded installer. But the problem starts here, when i want to install NTA installer (on the same server as NPM) it's ask for newer version for NPM wich is 12.0.1 but when i want to upgrade my NPM it says i must go to the support portal and download newest NPM installer. Unfortunately i can't register on support portal because i not yet buy a product for this module. can anyone give me explanation about this ? I mean the first thing i wanna do is try this module (NPM & NTA) before purchase it for my customer.

Warnings treated as critical
Hi,
When going through the alarm list. I noticed that we have alot of critical alarms that actually are warnings. After some more digging, I found that the standard alarm definitions states that if something is in either Warning or Critical. The alarm state should be critical. For my part, I will change this so that warnings are warnings and criticals are critical. But why is it set like this from the beginning? Any reason as why you would like to have something that is declared as warning in your critical alarm list?

How to create a resource that looks like this?
A vendor of ours has a great view called Customer Node Details. It looks like a combination of Node Details and Polling Details.
I want to make something similar to this but can't figure out how to create a custom resource that:
Pulls fields from different tables
and
Once created, can be added to a View just like the other hundreds of Resources that can be added to Views.
Any suggestions you have would be appreciated.

Universal Device Poller and Transforms
I've created a Transform Poller that is simply the addition of the values of two pollers. I run the test and the transformed values are displayed as I expect. I have added the poller to several nodes and its enabled. When I go to one of the nodes and click on the Transform Poller there isn't any data being collected. What am I missing? Why is it not collecting data? Currently the interval is set to 2 minutes.
One thing to note, I'm new to SolarWinds so as much detail as you can give would be appreciated.

Polling Engine Usage Resource?
I am curious, is there a way to get a resource on our NOC view that shows the polling engine usage? I am unable to find anything canned, but I do find canned alerts. I think usage may be helpful in some environments where you have multiple polling engines and many people making changes to keep track of capacity. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Migrate NPM and NTA to a new server
Hello everyone.
I am posting here in hopes that someone might be able to help me with a migration that I have planned as I have tried support and they keep pointing me at the upgrade advisor.
I need to move my NPM 11.0.1 and NTA 3.11 from the existing Server 2003 R2 32bit server to my new 2012 R2 64bit server. I need to keep the ip and hostname the same as alot of network gear is tied to the ip address for monitoring and I don't want to touch each device in the network to change the IP address (I did just buy NCM but have not installed it).
I have seen articles on how to keep the same hostname but I would also like to update NPM and NTA to the latest versions. There is alot that appears I need to do and I am not sure on where to start with this. I have the 2012 server built and ready to go. I am just not sure on the next steps. Is it install SQL Express then NPM and NTA? I know that NTA 4 now has some new requirements. To be honest i would rather stay on 3.11 but I don't think I can do that (again, not sure).
Is there someone out there that has already been through this and can perhaps offer up their experience on how to complete this migration and upgrade?
Please let me know if there is something else that you need to know.

F5 Big IP Hardware Polling
I've seen a few threads on this but never a solution. I've got a number of F5's I'm monitoring and while all will show Hardware Health in the List Resources, many have a "Could Not Poll" value constantly while others seem to work. I'm not able to find much in the logs or in thwack to really determine what the issue seems to be. I'd imagine if Hardware Health could truly not be polled, then the option shouldn't even show in List Resources. Appreciate any assistance figuring this out.
