I am looking for a way to unmanage all hosts in a group to help with supressing alerts during monthly patch cycles. We typically patch LAB, then DEV, then TEST, and finally PROD systems. We have hundreds of systems in each group, and our patching schedules are not always on predefined days that would lend to using the scheduled task method that SolarWinds currently provides in the unmanaged scheduling utility. Also, I want to be able to provide the ability to unmanage the hosts from the web interface and not have many folks accessing the server console to run scheduled tasks.
Is there a way (or is one being considered) to unmanage a defined group of hosts? With this we could create static or dynamic groups and then have the admins go to the group and unmanage the entire group before they begin patching.
I could probably do this with creative SQL, but I would need a way to make this accessible on the web interface.
Thanks,
Chris
