I'm starting to work with VMware's DRS so that I can better balance the load on my ESXi hosts. One concern I have is that if I also leverage DPM and allow vCenter to turn off hosts dynamically, Orion will see the host as down and generate an alert. If it is DRS that is shutting down and starting up the hosts, I don't need an alert, but if a host goes down because of a hardware problem (bad power supply), I need an alert. I imagine I can configure an alert in vCenter and remove the alerts in Orion, but I'm wondering if there's anyway to tie the two together so that I can continue to rely on Orion for my alerts.
Any comments or suggestions?
