Hi Everyone,
Let me try to explain the issue and my illustration:
Were'using one NPM to monitor our devices. The routers, FW, & the switches are polled using snmp and the APs by ICMP. I have been receiving Intermittent node down alert for SW3, AP2 & AP4 (the rest are OK). I initially thought of a simple loose cabling or power related issue. I'm currently trying to figure out why our NPM is intermittently showing Nodes Down but the device is accessible and pingable from the LAN segment.
So from the Solarwinds Server where I am logged in, I accessed the Core SW to further check. When Solarwinds monitoring is showing AP2, AP4, & SW3 are down, I'm able to ping and access the nodes from the Core SW but its not pingable from Solarwinds server .
Pings from Core SW towards internal and public IP are OK (sourced from the same device vlan). Didn't see any flap in the interface or whatsoever as I checked the switches. Hardware environment is ok, CPU processes and memory is fine. Link utilization is normal.
Hoping you can help with your inputs and suggestions on what might cause this issue.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
