NetPath prob installed on NPM (ORION server) --------- FW --------- Website @ webserver
what ports rather than 43 needs to be opened on "FW" for the Netpath prob to work properly when contacting the Webserver ?
please do not share the Ports table in the admin guide
Every time I open message centre it takes about 120 secs to open. Web console performance other than that is not too bad. I am guessing the cause of this slowness is because when I open the page it is pulling up every message, event, syslog and Trap etc for every node in my DB for today. That would generate a huge SQL query which would take a lot of time to run i smy guess. Anyway I'd like to control that page so that it loads up from with the messages from no nodes then add what I want to see rather than load with all nodes then whittle down to what you're interested in. Anyone know if this is possible?

I have a requirement for Solarwinds NPM to place an outbound phone call and provide a voice message to the recipient. SMS/Paging/Email is not viable for this particular scenario. Years ago I ran Whatsup Gold on an installation and it had this capability built-in using any USR "voice modem" that we had laying around.
Any productions out there to do this still?

Can someone tell me why this alert has been triggered? I have roughly 6 servers out of about 75 that are triggering this alert but they shouldn't be, maybe some fresh eyes can see something.

Anyone know which table hold the information in regards to response type ? I am going to create a custom report that tells many things about the device (application monitoring, UNDP, response type) No idea what table response type is in. Maybe I should attempt to use the Web Reporter...
I talked to support probably 6 months ago and got a tier 1 that knew what they were talking about and was very helpful. The two tickets that have been submitted the last couple of weeks have been sent to a support farm and all they do is follow a script!!!!

I'm a relative newbie at this first off. At the moment I have one Geist Watchdog Environmental sensor deployed and added to Orion. I want to be able to monitor and chart the temperature and humidity from the sensors. I've had some relative success but not quite what I wanted.
I've gone into the UDP and created my own pollers after getting the MIB from Geist for this unit. I'm using OID1.3.6.1.4.1.21239.5.1.2.1.5 to get the Temperature from the Internal Sensor, now this should be something like 72.4, however instead I'm getting 724. I created an Adjustment that has {internalTemp}/10 to give me the format I want, however if I try to use that Adjustment as a poller in Orion I get nothing.

Basic stuff and probably been asked before but, the default email alert for a node does not show what node is sending the alert. it is only showing what interface is down. can anyone tell me how to enable the node name in an alert?

I'd like to install an additional polling engine at one of our remote branch office. However I'm having difficulty trying to find the installation files through our customer portal.
When I navigate to the "my downloads" section, the file is unavailable.
Is this a feature that needs to be purchased separately, or is it part of NPM?
Any help would be great. Our goal is to polling from the branch office perspective.

My question is: How to renew NPM12 with license key without Internet access?
Creation of Unique Machine ID is useless because all tips and Web based License Manager give no option for steps described in documentation. Maybe new key copied/pasted is enough to go? Any ideas?
Ever since my upgrade of VMAN and VIM to version 7, none of the alerts I have that are configured to reset after 'X' amount of time or 'reset immediately'. will actually reset. For instance, the 'Alert me when a node reboots' is configured to reset immediately, but ever since my last upgrade, these alerts never reset and stay active in the Active Alerts forever, until I clear them or acknowledge them. To be clear, these are for any alerts in Orion, not just alerts configured in the virtualization module.
Anyone else experience this before?
We just upgraded our vCenter to 6.5 and now our Orion instance can't connect to it. Everything worked fine prior to the upgrade (5.5 before). In the Manage Nodes screen the credential validation under the VMware Polling Settings fails with the error, "Test Failed. Cannot login with selected vCenter or ESX credential."
- removed vCenter node and added back
- verified IP address was the same as before
- tried with full administrator account and it failed
- ICMP and Poll for VMware are only boxes checked
Any ideas here?
